This blog is a journal of my continuing journey to become a better artist while keeping the fun in art making. I've posted class assignments, personal, and professional work. In every piece of art I make, no matter whether the goal is academic, personal, or monetary, this blog is a reminder to myself to make sure I always enjoy the process. After all, why should any of us bother pursuing such a hard field to get into as art, if we're not having fun with it!

GIANT SQUID
For my friend's birthday this year I didn't have a lot of money but I did have a lot of fabic and a good amount of time so I decided to make her something. She mentioned she saw these Giant Squid stuffed animals at a shop in LA for around $500. I found some reference pics online and set out to see if I could make one for her. I worked on it over the course of 3 days, now that I have a pattern designed for it I think I could make another in about a day. The hardest part was figuring out which pieces to sew together first. The most time consuming part was stuffing the tenticles. In the end, I think it came out nicely, it was a fun challenge for me and my friend loves her new buddy. :)
