Putting the pieces together

Yay, it's your favorite out-law and his fair maiden!
I started playing around a while ago with trying to make some bendable dolls. I used armature wire for the bodies, and quick grip glue to attach the wooden heads and hands. I did this yesterday.. and today I finished 2 of the dolls by hot-gluing them some felt clothing!
Here is the puppet from the other day.. I think she looks even more dramatic against these colored papers. I'm going to do a little bit more work on her before I use her for anything.
Yesterday I had fun painting, drawing, cutting, and gluing this piece of a bird and bugs!

Today and yesterday I worked on finishing some projects that were half done. I mounted this ink painting of an Easter cross onto a scroll.

Puppet

Just playing around today. I made this puppet which I will probably try to do a little animating with. She's got a plastic head, hands and feet (all parts used to put together Volks dolls) and a wire body.

Working on comics

I finally felt like working on some comic-book type stuff again so I picked up where I left off on "Something Sweet." Here's all the rough layouts I did and the pencils for pages 2-4.

Happy Easter.. a little late but whatever

Cousin's Wedding

At the wedding I sneaked in a little time to sketch people dancing in my tiny blue sketch book.
During the rehersal I did a quick marker sketch.

Sketches from China

This pagoda is in the Western Hills of Kunming.
At the minority village there was an elephant show.
Taking a boat ride on the lake.

Liger?
goofing off... "have some clock-pie!"
exercising my character design skills...

Back from China

I just spend the past two weeks in China (March 17th-April 1st) and have some fun sketches and stuff to put up from my trip but all I have time for now is to show you this one. I bought this cute set of wedding dolls and it inspired me to make this sketch. I spent about an hour this evening coloring it in on the computer; I used some srap-booking paper I had scanned in for texture.
