Monochromatic Monkey

So, here's my thesis project from AAU.  It's no masterpiece by far, and I'm still calling it a work in progress because it's only half as good as I want it to be, but for now I'm just letting it be and I won't do any more work on it.  I'm moving on to start some new animations!  I learned so much working on this film, with each new piece I do I feel my skills increasing exponentially!  I do hope you enjoy the short.  I think the foundation is all there, I just would have liked to improve the lighting and animation a lot more.  Perhaps someday I will.

Panda

About a week ago I thought I'd draw a new art print for my etsy shop, so I sketched a panda!  I used to draw guys like this one all the time when I worked drawing caricatures art the San Diego zoo.  A lot of times I worked right next to the panda enclosure. 

 

Sometimes I draw freehand directly into Photoshop using a tablet, but a lot of times I do a pencil sketch first, then scan that in to use as a guide.

I've been focusing a lot on color and shapes lately, trying to get a nice contrast and pop with each piece!
