This blog is a journal of my continuing journey to become a better artist while keeping the fun in art making. I've posted class assignments, personal, and professional work. In every piece of art I make, no matter whether the goal is academic, personal, or monetary, this blog is a reminder to myself to make sure I always enjoy the process. After all, why should any of us bother pursuing such a hard field to get into as art, if we're not having fun with it!

Cal Arts Portfolio
Here is the portfolio I put together to apply for CalArts MFA in experimental animation. I also included a demo reel that has "NAKAMA" on it. All the pieces I included have been posted on this blog so I didn't want to re-upload all of them.
Along with Jane Piling and Paul Wells, Maureen Furniss is one of the more authoritative voices on the subject of "experimental" animation. Reading Paul Wells will explain why I put that word in quotes.

This may not be the most timely comment but I wish you all the luck Monica. I like the approach you take of using collage.
If you haven't already, check out the writing of Maureen Furniss who teaches at CalArts:
