This blog is a journal of my continuing journey to become a better artist while keeping the fun in art making. I've posted class assignments, personal, and professional work. In every piece of art I make, no matter whether the goal is academic, personal, or monetary, this blog is a reminder to myself to make sure I always enjoy the process. After all, why should any of us bother pursuing such a hard field to get into as art, if we're not having fun with it!

Snow White Illustration
Snow White Text
"News of Snow White's death sent the Queen rushing to consult her magic mirror. She fled to the top of the tallest tower and entered the secret chamber where all her terrible spells were boiled and bred.
Lighting a candle she locked the chamber door and turned to question the mirror that watched her silently from the far wall.
'Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?'
There was a long silence as her reflection scowled back at her from within the glass.
Then, finally, the mirror spoke..."
When I read the text I knew I wanted to show intensity and tension in the queen's attitude as she despirately waits for the mirror to tell her what she wants to hear, I did this sketch first... unfortunately for the final we were required to show the whole figure in the mirror and i think that I never captured this feeling. One of my classmates said my piece was comedic ...which is depressing.
