5 customers today

I only drew 5 people today. I didn't feel 100% about my skills but these two are still cute.

Dr. Sketchy's

This is my favorite drawing from the evening. I had a lot of fun with the colors and the lines.
This was the first contest- to draw our lovely model as a sexy teacher or librarian. I won! Can you belive it, I acctually won a contest. My prize was 2 tickets to the photographic museum and passes for myself and a guest to a halloween event downtown.

In my quest to cram more life drawing into my life (but still trying to not break my budget) aside from the open life drawing session I found out about on weds I discovered Dr. Sketchy's which is an open drawing session held at a bar once a month. There is a suggested donation of $10, the models arn't nude but they dress up in fun costumes and there are even contests with prizes. It's a good way to mix things up. Life drawing doesn't always have to be so serious! The picture above was the last one I drew. I couldn't see her foot too well because of the guy in fornt of me so I gave up straining my neck to finish it and drew his silluette in.

life drawings weds 17th

I went to an open life drawing session and sketched from nude models for the first time in maybe 2 years. It was really refreshing but I felt rather rusty. Here's a few of the better ones I did.

I think this was a 15-20 minute pose.
When I got home I was in art mode so I sketched Lorenzo as he sat on the couch watching TV as he had suggested it. I think it's the best one I did that day since I had already gotten in 3 hours of practice before coming home.

Naruto Mosaic

I started working on this before I left for Japan and never got back to it until a few weeks ago when I finally finished it. I think it came out well and I'd like to do this again but maybe not on such a large scale. The tiles are all made up of clippings from japanese animation magazines by the way. It was the leftover tiles that made me start thinking about the cutout animation I am still working on.

$325

After work I spent about 30 mins walking around and sketching.

Here's the couple pic. I tried to make it more caricaturesque and exagerate more.

Today was a good day for opening caricatures. I drew a good amount of kids but I also drew 2 couples and a middle aged man with a monkey which were my top 3 drawings. Unfortunately I only got a picture of one of those drawings.

off season continues

I only did one caricature today of a kid with "kung fu" panda. I couldn't remember exactly what Jack Black as a panda looked like, but I drew a fat panda kicking and gave him red and gold shorts so I think it worked well enough. Since we weren't making a lot of money coworker (who was maning the facepaint booth) and I were allowed to leave early. We packed up and tried to sketch a few animals before heading back towards the front of the park to sign out.
On the stairway down I stoped again to sketch what I saw.
I was early for work today so on my way to the panda booth I passed the orangutangs
and drew this guy.

off season at the zoo

The red panda walked by and I got this photo of it.
When the red panda came back I tried to draw him but he was too fast.

It was a slow day so I had time inbetween these caricatures to draw what was in front of me.
My day of drawing finished with this nice picture of a father and son.
I think the mother of this child must have seen me draw the polar bear sketch because this is the first time I've ever gotten two requests in one day for draw me as a___ or draw my child as a____.
This lady wanted me to draw her as a polar bear . . .

Lately business has been slow for caricatures. My day working the front plaza booth started by drawing a boy and his brother.

Cut-out animation

Here are a couple stills from the new cut-out animation I'm currently working on
